It’s been great teaching face-to-face again after months on Zoom. On Saturday we had a fun afternoon of baking, making cheese scones, nutty blondie bars, scotch quail eggs, and sausage rolls with spicy ketchup. Yum!

It was an exciting week with the BBC here filming my business and chatting with me for their popular, long-running relocation programme!

Sharing some absolutely delicious Portuguese custard tarts that I baked over the weekend. Homemade puff pastry is filled with a lemon and cinnamon flavoured custard, pressed into specially shaped tins, and baked in a hot oven.

A bit of French baking today as I develop some new Autumn classes. This Strawberry Paris Brest is made with choux pastry, filled with strawberry mousseline, jam, fresh strawberries, and topped with a dusting of icing sugar. Yum!

The hedgerows are bursting with elderflower at this time of year. Time to get foraging…. Here are my top tips for collecting elderflower heads, ready for making a refreshing summer cordial.

I had a busy weekend of baking parties! We baked the strawberry version of these gorgeous little cakes along with quail egg scotch eggs, and Italian breads.

It’s great to be teaching in-person classes again. A busy but fun weekend teaching two private baking classes, a savoury picnic food class on Saturday and a Parisian-style Macaron class on Sunday. Fortunately the weather was cooperative too so participants were able to enjoy their picnic treats outside!
