FRIDAY FEELING

GET THAT FRIDAY FEELING! Launched in 1929, the Crunchie bar became a firm favourite. Sharing a fun recipe for you to make your own version at home for a weekend treat.

Ingredients:

Honeycomb:
200g caster sugar
5 Tablespoons golden syrup (measure with a greased spoon to make it easier)
2 Tablespoons bicarbonate of soda

Recipe:

Have a baking pan lined with nonstick baking paper prepared and set aside. Melt sugar and syrup in a large heavy based pan over a low heat, stirring to dissolve all sugar crystals. When all of the sugar is dissolved increase the heat and bubble mixture until it reaches 150C degrees. Remove from the heat briefly to allow the bubbles to subside slightly and add the bicarbonate of soda. Mix the soda in quickly with a wooden spoon until all of it is incorporated. Pour mixture immediately into prepared baking pan and allow to harden at room temperature. Break into shards and store in an airtight tin when cool.

Optional: dip honeycomb shards into melted dark chocolate for even more decadence
